It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Competitions. The love of all competitive dancers, the light of their lives. Competitions are considered holy in the eyes of a true dancer. Usually happening in early spring, dance competitions are found almost anywhere you look! to the left, to the right, all over the place! The name speaks for it all. At competitions, you compete against other dancers for different awards and ribbons. Conventions are similar, except you do not perform your rehearsed dances. You get a chance to learn a dance with several other dancers and perform it to a series of other dancers. This is a great opportunity for any aged dancer.
